The Department at Cornell will hold a Memorial Commemoration of our late beloved colleague Ted Lowi. "Theodore J. Lowi: Celebrating A Half Century at Cornell" will take place on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in the Chapel at Anabel Taylor Hall from 4:30 to 6:00 followed by a reception in the Founders Room.
Also, we’re eager to hear from you with your favorite anecdotes, words of wisdom, stories, fables, or pictures of Ted. We’d like to collect your memories and share them with Ted’s friends and family. Please try to limit your contributions to less than 500 words, and be sure to give us some context, such as who you are, how you knew Ted, when your contribution took place, and any other details you think relevant. Unless you indicate otherwise, we’ll include these details. Also, please provide a preferred way for us to contact you, in case we have questions. We will not include contact information in the finished product. Please send your submissions to Dinnie Sloman.
Many of you have asked how you might honor Ted's memory. We hope eventually to create a lasting tribute, which might take the form of an annual lecture, which would continue the tradition of intellectual and policy debates that Ted so passionately generated. In the meantime contributions can be made to a “Ted Lowi Memorial Fund” and sent to the Department 210 White Hall. You may also give on-line by selecting “Other” on the pull-down screen and writing in “Ted Lowi Memorial Fund.”
Sincerely,
Jason Frank
